Operating Principle
The LUGB-50 vortex flowmeter operates on the Kármán vortex street principle: an obstruction (bluff body) in the flow generates alternating vortices whose frequency is proportional to flow velocity. A piezoelectric sensor detects the frequency and converts it to a standard output.

Construction
The meter consists of a vortex shedder, sensor, converter, and housing. The shedder is trapezoidal or triangular to enhance stability. The piezoelectric sensor is temperature and pressure resistant. The converter features a microprocessor for local display and remote communication. Compact design with no moving parts ensures low maintenance.
