LUGB-EX-DN80 explosion-proof vortex flowmeter is based on Karman vortex street principle, designed for flammable gases like natural gas. It features piezoelectric sensor and flameproof enclosure, wide turndown ratio, low pressure loss, suitable for industrial pipeline gas metering.

Operating Principle
LUGB-EX-DN80 explosion-proof vortex flowmeter operates on the Karman vortex street principle. A bluff body is inserted into the flow, generating alternating vortices downstream. The vortex shedding frequency is proportional to flow velocity. A piezoelectric sensor detects the frequency, which is processed into standard electrical signals for flow measurement.

Product Structure
The flowmeter consists of body, bluff body, piezoelectric sensor, converter, and flameproof enclosure. The body is made of 304 stainless steel (316L optional). The bluff body is a trapezoidal prism precision-machined for stable vortex shedding. The sensor is housed in an isolated chamber to avoid direct contact with the medium. The converter features a microprocessor supporting on-site calibration and self-diagnostics. The flameproof enclosure complies with GB/T 3836, Ex d IIB T6 Gb, suitable for IIB gases like natural gas.
