Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. What media can an electromagnetic flow meter measure?+
Electromagnetic flow meters work for conductive liquids with conductivity ≥5 μS/cm — tap water, wastewater, acids/alkalis, paper pulp, slurries. Not suitable for pure water, oil, gas, or steam.
Q2. How much straight pipe is needed before / after the meter?+
Typical requirement: upstream ≥10D, downstream ≥5D. Electromagnetic meters can use 5D/2D; vortex / orifice meters need 15D/5D for best accuracy. See product datasheet for details.
Q3. What accuracy class is provided? How long is the warranty?+
Standard accuracy ±0.5% (liquid) / ±1.0% (gas). High-accuracy version up to ±0.2%. Standard warranty 12 months from shipment.
Q4. Can you provide certificates for trade metering?+
Yes. Our calibration lab is CMC-certified and we issue calibration certificates with each unit. Third-party calibration (NIM China etc.) can also be arranged.
Q5. Can ultrasonic flow meters measure liquids with gas bubbles?+
Clamp-on ultrasonic meters need acoustically transparent, homogeneous liquids. Gas content >2% or heavy particles cause signal loss. Use electromagnetic or Coriolis flow meter for such applications.
Q6. Can you provide English documentation and quotation?+
Yes — we have served 30+ overseas countries. Reach us via the chat widget or sales@jsxcmeter.com — we reply with full English documentation within 1 business day.
Q7. Are meters water-calibrated before shipment?+
Yes. All electromagnetic and turbine flow meters undergo three-point (30%/60%/100%) water-flow calibration on our certified rig before shipment, with calibration curves provided.
Q8. Do you provide on-site commissioning?+
For domestic projects (≥5 units or single unit ≥DN500) we offer one free on-site commissioning visit. For overseas projects, we provide remote video guidance, or arrange travel as needed.
