Elbow Flow Meter

The Elbow Flow Meter utilizes the fluid inertia principle to generate differential pressure at the elbow for flow measurement. It has no insertion/throttling elements, no additional pressure loss, and is suitable for harsh environments such as high temperature, high pressure, dust, and vibration. It is widely used in thermal power, electric power, and metallurgy industries.

Features
  • Utilizes fluid inertia to generate differential pressure, no insertion/throttling elements
  • No additional pressure loss, saves transmission power and energy
  • Measurement accuracy class 0.5~1.5, repeatability up to 0.2%
  • Suitable for harsh environments such as high temperature, high pressure, dust, vibration, and humidity
  • Simple structure, stable performance, easy maintenance
  • Available in L-type and S-type structures

Overview

Product Overview

The Elbow Flow Meter, like the Orifice Plate Flow Meter, is a differential pressure flow meter, but differs in how differential pressure is generated—the elbow uses the inertia of the fluid. It inherits the advantages of simple structure, stable performance, and high measurement accuracy of differential pressure flow meters, while overcoming disadvantages such as large pressure loss, easy clogging, and difficult maintenance. With outstanding energy-saving effects, high stability, high accuracy, and high adaptability, it has been rapidly promoted in thermal power, thermoelectric, metallurgy, and petrochemical industries.

Measurement Principle

When fluid flows through the elbow, it is subjected to centrifugal force, forming a differential pressure between the inner and outer sides of the elbow. The differential pressure is related to the flow rate. The elbow sensor has no insertion or throttling elements, producing no additional pressure loss. It is available in L-type and S-type structures.
